Tab Groups driving me mad

What’s going on with Tab Groups? I keep getting a blue square on the tabs panel which I believe is to do with tab groups. I haven’t consciously done anything to get this and I can’t get rid of it. It’s making Firefox almost unusable.
Aaaagh! I’ve got 2 tab groups now. How do I disable this terrible feature?

Actually this was a long waited feature which made many of us happy. The blue borders appear when you select multiple tabs. When you click on a single one they will disappear.

I tried that and everything else I could think of, the help was not helpful.
It was confusing and counter-intuitive. You can’t switch it off without searching the Internet for an answer and digging into the about:config. I’m glad to be rid of it as I would have had to switch browsers otherwise.

This might be related to the version you are using. We mostly use the Nightly version where we get daily fixes. Maybe next update will fix it for you.
